"WHY so SERIOUS?"

“Why so serious?” That line is probably the most memorable scene and line from The Dark Knight. Starring Christian Bale and Heath Ledger, The Dark Knight is a movie worth seeing. The music and sound effects are just amazing in the film, especially whenever The Joker (Heath Ledger) is about to appear in the scene. The screen always gets darker or the light dims and there is suspenseful music in the background. The Joker brings suspense to the movie and the music does a great job bringing that to life.

Also in this film, there are great special effects. The Joker is always pulling stunts in the movie and seems to be one step ahead of Batman (Christian Bale). One particular stunt I loved in the movie was when Batman and The Joker are riding in the city and are literally trying to destroy each other. Batman crashes his bat mobile and out comes his motorcycle; with it he follows the Joker from behind and attaches two cable cords under to the front of The Joker’s semi-truck and flips it over.

The Dark Knight is a great movie not only because of its music and special effects but because of the basic plot. Batman teams up with Lieutenant Gordon (Gary Oldman) and District Attorney Harvey Dent (Aaron Eckhart) to try and stop criminal organizations that disturb the city of Gotham. Their partnership is proven to be effective, until they soon find themselves targets to a series of chaos unleashed by a rising criminal mastermind known as The Joker.

Heath Ledger does a wonderful job portraying The Joker in The Dark Knight. The Joker really seems to be a lunatic as he ticks his head slightly every now and then. The Joker’s evil and crazy laugh is also done very well by Ledger; whether The Joker is happy or hurt the laugh is the same and still is awesome. The Joker is a very crazy person and for Ledger to pull that off it’s just great acting.

This movie was totally worth the two hours and thirty-two minutes of my life, maybe more considering I’ve watched it more than once! It kept me on the edge of my seat and had great special effects and music. I would rate this movie an eight out of ten and advise anyone to go see the movie if they have not yet. It is definitely a movie to watch!
